Hey {{first_name | there}},
A lot has shipped in the last few weeks. Here’s a quick look at what’s new, what’s improved, and what’s coming next.
✨ What’s New
Undo/Redo in AI Chat — Keyboard shortcuts for undo and redo now work inside the AI chat.
Screenplay AI Awareness — The AI now auto-detects when you’re working in screenplay format. No more manually specifying it in every prompt.
Redesigned Onboarding — The onboarding preview screen has been updated to better introduce you to Squibler.
Stability & Reliability — Major improvements to real-time collaboration, document sync, AI writer stream reliability, and memory performance across the platform.
Help Center & Shortcuts — There’s a new help menu right inside the editor. Access the Knowledge Center, join our community, find Squibler events, see what’s new, and pull up a full keyboard shortcuts dialog — all without leaving your project.
🔜 What’s Coming
Version History — View previous versions of your project and restore them with a click.
Delete Files — Easily delete individual files, just like you can with folders.
AI Personalization Settings — Add context about yourself and your writing so the AI can tailor its output to you.
Contest Directory — Discover writing contests directly inside Squibler.
Manuscript Import — Import your existing DOCX and PDF drafts directly into the editor.
AI Chat Onboarding — A guided onboarding experience built right into the AI chat.
Edit & Retry in AI Chat — Edit and retry your most recent AI message.
📢 Important Change: Exporting Now Requires a Paid Plan
We’re making exporting a paid feature going forward. Here’s why: we’ve seen a significant number of bots and bad actors using free accounts which is slowing down the experience for our paid users.
By requiring a paid plan for exports, we’re protecting the experience for real writers while keeping the platform fast and reliable for everyone.
If you’re already on a paid plan, nothing changes for you.
If you’re on the free plan and want to export your work, now is a great time to upgrade.
Thanks for writing with us.
